When Charlie Kendall started processing and selling marine aggregates to local builders in 1922, little did he realise that the company would grow to employ nearly 80 staff on three sites along the south coast. Despite the Great Depression of 1929, the business grew and became incorporated in 1950 as a major dredger and processor of marine sand and gravel.

Today, Kendall Bros. (Portsmouth) Ltd operate two aggregate processing plants and a bagging operation at Portsmouth and Shoreham-By-Sea. KRM Concrete Ltd have three ready mixed concrete plants located at Portsmouth, Shoreham-By-Sea and Romsey near Southampton. Our large transport fleet of tippers, articulated trailers and concrete mixer trucks allow us the flexibility to cope with orders of any size, from home improvement projects to major civil engineering schemes.

Environmental Policy

Our materials are harvested from the sea, processed and delivered direct to local construction sites. Every shipment of marine aggregates saves 100 vehicle journeys and has no visual impact on the landscape, so reducing the environmental impact of providing these essential materials. As a long established local company employing local people we are very much aware of our environmental responsibility. We work with the Local Authorities and other interested organisations to protect the marine environment and wildlife around our locations.

We recycle materials wherever possible and are a member of Recycle-More, an organisation promoting recycling initiatives through the Valpak compliance scheme.

Health & Safety

Good site practice and safe working conditions are essential both on our own sites and when delivering to customers sites. All personnel visiting a customer's work site operate under a controlled procedure and comply with our own QMS Quality Management System.
With increased corporate and personal responsibility we enforce current legislation at all times and request that all visitors entering a Kendalls Group site adhere to Health & Safety requirements.
